Nukewatch’s John LaForge served 50 days in January and February 2023 in a German prison for his part in actions aimed at removing US nuclear weapons from Germany. - The Affected Communities Working Group of the Nuclear Ban Treaty Collaborative hosted a discussion marking the one-year anniversary of the entry into force of the nuclear ban treaty on January 25, 2022. This free online seminar seeks to tell the truth through the lived experience of those most affected by the nuclear fuel trajectory and activate our collective work toward disarmament. Speakers and artists of affected communities and allies weave together the history of nuclear colonialism from uranium mining, nuclear testing, production, and use— to the deadly waste that will be with us for generations to come.
- Accompanied by Women Against Military Madness and Veterans for Peace, Chapter 27, watch 5-year-old and 7-year-old members of Nukewatch deliver a copy of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons to a representative of Honeywell the day the Treaty entered into force. - The Necessity Defense 5/17/2020 – Martha Hennessy, a member of the Kings Bay Plowshares 7, her lawyer Bill Quigley, former Plowshares defendant and Nukewatch activist John LaForge, and Vermont attorney Bill Nelson joined WILPF US Disarm Co-Chair Robin Lloyd in a webinar to speak about antinuclear “criminal” trials and the efforts to use the “necessity” defense.
